Dallas Cowboys Times Calendar Shoot

Recently, I was asked to do a photo shoot for "The Blonde Side" calendar. I was excited and nervous considering it was my first real photo shoot, but in the end, I was thrilled with the way they turned out! I'm sure there will be many guys purchasing this calendar- sports and beautiful girls, what else does a guy need in life? :)

Kyler's Senior Year

Kyler was definitely one of my more meaningful sessions, simply because I taught Kyler when he was in 7th grade. I'm having trouble coming to terms with the fact that he is graduating this year! All of my students are going to be heading off to college now, and I feel like I was in their shoes just a few years ago. Kyler is such a sweetheart and is in the top 20 of his class of 550 students. He's loaded up with AP classes and plays football and baseball, and is hoping to play at the college level. Oh, the options! :) I'm so proud of him, and am so glad I was able to be a part of creating his memories!

Welcome Claire Addison

I am so excited I was able to do my first newborn shoot yesterday (okay, that always sounds a little morbid to me- newborn and shoot in the same sentence. Oh well ). Claire was absolutely adorable, and it's easy to see why parents immediately fall so in love with these little ones. Doug and Rebecca were the sweetest new mom and dad. I'd be lying if I didn't experience a little baby fever after this session. She was too cute!

Next Top Model, Paige

I've been wanting to grab someone who would let me do a fun shoot, where we could just play around with shots and see what came of it. I think that's part of being a photographer, always trying to be innovative in a field that is full of creative-minded people. I immediately thought of Paige, a former friend and sorority sister of mine from Texas Tech. She is beautiful, and she has a heart of gold. "Photogenic" doesn't do this girl justice. The camera LOVES her. And boy was she a natural. We had so much fun together. Our shoot went something like this:

Me- (showing Paige a picture I just took on my camera)
Paige - "Wow, you are seriously good at this!"
Me - No, YOU'RE good.

We were definitely great for each other's self-esteem, to say the least. Paige is doing a bit of promo work, but is just cracking into the business. I know, I'm shocked too. Anyway, I couldn't even choose which photos to pick, so I got a bit overwhelmed and just started adding them. Enjoy!

Baby Noah is on his way!

Wow! It sure does feel like baby season. This is the 3rd of several maternity sessions I've booked, and I have to admit, pregnant mommas are fun! Jen is quite the character. Due to the unforgiving Texas heat we've been experiencing lately, Jen opted to stay inside for her session. So, we cranked up the ac, grabbed a bottle of water and got busy snapping photos. My sister, Erin, is friends with Jen, so I brought her along. The shoot took us over 2 hours because we were goofing off and laughing most of the time. Poor DJ had to put up with us, but we sure did have fun! All in all, it was a great session and the pics turned out beautiful!

Reid Turns One!

I love taking pictures of one year olds because they're eyes are full of wonder, and they are so curious about everything they see. The day we shot these photos, we were under a heat advisory. We live in Texas, mind you, but today was particularly hot. Thankfully, we found a nice spot in the shade and turned a fussy baby into a wide-eyed, happy baby! I love this family, and they are so incredibly photogenic. And I must say, I love the way they turned out!

Happy One Year Anniversary!

God is not good, He's great.

Thinking back, it took a lot to get to where we are today. We've learned a ton in our first year of marriage, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. He is mine and I am his. We've become quite cozy in our one bedroom apartment and have learned to enjoy the simplicity of our life with just the two of us. We are best friends, and it's a really peaceful feeling knowing that someone will be there to catch you at the end of the day. I'm guilty of being fairly idealistic when it comes to love. I'm a sucker for a chick flick and spontaneous love notes. Well, if you want to get technical, I sometimes picture my love life as a scene from The Notebook. You know, "If I'm a bird, you're a bird." Okay girls, admit there's a part of you that seriously swooned over Ryan Gosling in not one, two, but at least three scenes. Obviously. It's the kind of movie that makes guys everywhere legitimately want to burn every last copy, just so they don't have to be held anywhere near that unattainable standard. And while real life isn't a scene from The Notebook, I would argue it's better. Those 'rough spots' in your marriage allow you to grow, and it's in those moments, I am reminded why we are partners.

This past year has been the best year of my life, and I feel like God has been so incredibly good to us. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him and can't wait to experience the rest!
